Graphic Signs partnered with the West Midland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (WM RFCA) to deliver a fully standardised, durable signage solution across more than 70 reserve force sites. From roadside regiment signage to internal door signage, the project required precision, consistency and long-term performance in demanding environments.

West Midland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (WM RFCA) is one of 13 Reserve Forces and Cadets Associations across the UK. Established alongside the Territorial Army in 1908, the organisation supports Reserve Forces and Cadets from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army and Royal Air Force.

The Army Reserve estate required an ongoing signage solution covering roadside regiment signage, site entrance signage, health and safety signage and internal door signage. Each site presented unique environmental and operational considerations, requiring signage that was both high-performance and long-lasting.
After conducting detailed site surveys, the Graphic Signs team collaborated closely with the facilities manager to develop a fully approved signage specification that could be rolled out consistently across all locations.
Regiment signage was needed roadside on most sites and post-mounted signs were the best solution. Building-mounted letters and external building signs were used in other areas around the sites to match entrance signage for a consistent system.
The materials had to be hardwearing and long-lasting to ensure they were suited to military environments. Advanced print methods were used for durability and clarity in the detailed artwork.
There was additional need for Health & Safety signage that was identified as the project progressed, but Graphic Signs was able to provide this as well, saving the client from finding another supplier.
The branding and colours used for all external signage was consistently used for internal signage around the sites.
